The power of Touch

The purpose of this bodywork is to be present with another human being in a non judgemental and open way, using touch and breathing so they can feel an inner sense of themselves.

Amanae emotional regulation breath work is a general hands on discipline that allows for a deep relaxation in the client that is receiving the work. The touching presence of the practitioner allows the person under their hands to listen to their inner selves from inside out. The practitioner facilitates a safe space for that person to be whoever they are at that moment.

When someone is really present with you, there’s something about that that you don’t feel alone with your deepest feelings. That’s really healing. That’s where the magic happens: when we are able to navigate difficult emotions, when we can have space for them they themselves leave us.

The kind of touch used , it’s a presence touch. A listening touch.
When you find yourself being touched in this way there’s a sense of “safety”, of being contained, that allows you to unfold, relax your muscles and often come in touch with parts of yourself that you were not familiar with or have forgotten about.

When we are born healthy and we come into this world we move from the top of our head to the tips of our toes with every breath we take and as we begin to be a little older as long as we feel safe, there’s going to be a movement within us that is natural and easy.
But if we don’t feel safe for any reason, we start to put ourselves away and we do that with our muscles. We just start to hold back and hold down and when we do that, it affects the diaphragm, our breathing muscle. And this means we start to make ourselves smaller than how we really are and we lose that natural ability, that natural flexibility we have in life, our natural resources to deal with our life situations.

The heart of this bodywork is remembering who you really are and out of that, you find more possibilities of how you live your life with freedom and at ease.
